As promised, FIREWORKS! Can you see the other Ellicott building in the foreground? I have no idea which building that is -- gotta check it out again.
I will probably upload the 2 min+ video with more fireworks once Youtube finishes it's maintenance.

The next day, we went to watch our very first live American Football match at the UB stadium! Well, our school played against the ARMY. It was damn cool! Well, at first I thought it was BORING because I didn't really know what's the whole point and how they played it. It's not as exciting as what we call football, they call soccer. There are frequent stops to the game, not ongoing like soccer... and well, a not as thrilling as rugby!

HOWEVER, watching the game while supporting a team is like COOL. And guess what, it was our lucky day. How?

Starting off with...

We went LATE! The game already started, and UB was losing to the Army 3 to 10 -- like, what the!

We were IN AWE! LOOK AT THIS STADIUM!

Then we couldn't find seats ANYWHERE at the podiums where we were SUPPOSED to be.

So we went to the other side -- the COLD side where there were plenty of empty seats.

At half-time, we watched the school band, "Thunder of the East" perform:

Then the Army scored a touchdown, bringing the score to 3 - 17 or something. Afterwards, it got super exciting and all, see this part: the BULLS (UB) charged ALL THE WAY HERE!

And scored a touchdown! Whooot~

GO BULLS GO BULLS!

Somewhere around the third quarter, they came out with the KISS CAM! Guess what that is! The camera focuses on couples and they KISS! Haha, so funny. There were so many, and when they realized the camera was on them, they kissed! AWwww~

Here's the ELLICOTT CASTLE from the stadium!!! Cool eh?

A lot of cheering was going on during the last few minutes... UB scored more touchdowns, and at full time, the score was tied at 24-24! OMG. Go Bulls! At home base, an uproar will boost team morale, and the Bulls' went WAYYYYY up!

A lot of waiting and contemplation (and FREEZING -- yes, the weather was so freaking cold, we were all freezing like mad), and finally... WE WIN!!! 27-24!!!

The game finally ended after us sitting there in the cold for over three hours! OH crap! That was long. We hung out till the game ended and we were glad we did, because a lot of people gave up hope on the Bulls and went off. That is not the spirit! Come on'! Anyway, we watched the sun set and the sky change colours the whole duration of the game. Pretty sight. They finally turn on the lights at the end and lit up the whole field. Everyone rushed down ... MAYHEM!

I loved the night!

Well, we started off this afternoon with a late lunch at the Heights -- CHINA KING!

Very nice orange chicken meal! It made me extremely bloated. Afterward, we walked towards ALDI for a nice grocery shopping trip.

The walk there was pretty nice, because we haven't got all our shopping done yet, and I've got free hands to take photos of the autumn scene around Main Street. The trees were very nice! REALLY pretty! I love Autumn! It's my favorite favorite season, and I AM SO GLAD I got to experience it here at UB. =D

At Aldi...
Got all sorts of stuff there... like my turkey ham and spinach... snacks and all... Very very sinful. XD

Walking back to TOPS was a torture. It was really, really cold, and my hands were freezing and turning purple (very much due to the wind though). Reaching Tops rocked!!! Because we got the warmth! (AHH!) Apologies for my lousy writing skills today. I'm condensing a lot of stuff in tonight's post. (haha)

What next what next? OH OH! We met someone unexpectedly at TOPS. That part was so funny, Eileen and I stared at each other with mouths agape. PERRY'S ICE CREAM was only like, $1+? That was SUCH a deal. And it was such a big individual tub! I mean, it's for one person to eat I guess. But the share was huge (for one person). And yes, we each got one, thank you very much.

After junking all our stuff down in the dorms, we heard this loud *bomph bomph boom boooom*... and we thought, WHAT THE HECK, THUNDER?
Eileen: sounds like fireworks...
ME: sounds like FIREWORKS!!! (IN A VERY EXCITED VOICE)
Jocelyn: Ya! (I think, if I'm not wrong hahahaha)

After much contemplation, and a lot of heartache because I keep hearing the sounds but can't see the fireworks, I decided to RUSH UP to my floor!!! Then, after throwing down my stuff, I raced to the corridor window and peeped out... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! BEAUTIFUL FIREWORKS! Although I woke Raven up (sorry!), haha... I came back and grabbed my camera before CHARGING TOWARDS THE KITCHEN!!! Jocelyn came up to join me and we watched the BEAUTIFUL fireworks from the full length level 5 kitchen glass window. AHHH! SO NICE! I will upload the video soon!

Anyway, afterwards we headed out to the student union (the carnival was over, sadly) and realized there was a BINGO game going on! OMG! Favourite!

Spotting a few cupcakes was too unbearable for us!!! So, we did a little exploration, and found a dark room with a table laid out with goodies and a live jazz band! OMG! The ambience was SO nice. Check out these neat little cookies and cupcakes... and cakes... and oh gaawd, how sinful they are. Luckily I had Earl Grey, which was fantabulous!

By the way, here's what the student union lobby looks like:

They've just painted the glass... which... well, kind of... doesn't look THAT great. HAHAHA! Very primary/ secondary school! Cannot take it. LOL.

By the way, autumn/ fall has come and I've been looking at the effects of fall all around me on the trees. The leaves have turned yellow... orange... red... they've fallen from the trees... and that is something I don't really notice happening as much in Singapore. Leaves do turn yellow and fall. But the seasons are not as precise and exact like it is here in Buffalo. The moment Fall Equinox passed, I start to notice the changes around me.

A glimpse:
These trees were once filled with green leaves...!!! Well, that is, when I came over.

Wow!

Very pretty red leaves...

I even got the chance to take a photo! Right, whatever...

Here's something Eileen saw at CVS, and I had to take a photo. Look! It's my brand! My surname you know? Hahahahaha~

Anyway, before you enter my room, here's what you'll see pasted on our doors! How cute is that?! Thanks to Jennifer, our RA -- resident advisor.

A look at the back of the door reveals something like what you would see in a hotel room!

Okay, so anyway, you can see the route I always take whenever there happens to be a fire alarm in our building. Also, you can see that it's unfair because the double room that is beside our room is obviously bigger! The HUGE lounge on the left side is also useless, since it's locked! What the hell. How I wish sometimes that it is open. It would make it SO convenient for me to get hot water! If I want hot water, I need to either walk down the hallway to building five or go down to the third floor... when there is a lounge next to my room?! WHAT?

So here's what you would see in the evenings when the sun sets... from my bedroom window:

Pretty cool eh?

I just finished my PR exam today. It was alright, I am hoping to get full marks because we got an extra credit question. We'll see how it goes!

The coolest thing about today was going to the Alumni Arena after the exam to attend Khaled Hosseini's talk. By the way, he's the author of The Kite Runner. It was so interesting! There were so many people, and the whole duration everything said and asked in the session was so meaningful! After coming back from it, I wanted to just grab the book to read and read and read. Well, we got it from our International Student orientation, which by the way, cost us USD85. What a RIP-OFF. What a school, UB. What a bloodsucking school. Haha.

By the way, I really liked a lot of his views mentioned in the talk, and fully agree with them. One quote I thought was meaningful was him saying that there is not really a very clear distinction between good and bad, good and evil. There are really evil people out there, it is true, but a lot of men don't really know that they are doing something bad if their education tells them that it is supposedly good. Although really, the world opposes to that notion. This was when they were talking about the Taleban and stuff like that, yeah. So it goes like, "Good and evil exist within one person". Or something like that.

But here's a photo I snapped at the start, when he just came out and started to read the first chapter off The Kite Runner. Take a look at the massive place!

LOL!!! I so wanna watch a basketball game there.

I think I should keep blogging. Otherwise, I feel like life is becoming so routine that I can't remember what I do everyday. How meaningless! No, not really. Jenn just pasted two pumpkin heads - SUPER SUPER CUTE - with our names on it for Halloween. AWW! You should see it. I'm going to snap a photo and post it here soon.

Last Saturday we went to ALLENTOWN! Cool place, I think it's a really really nice neighborhood to live in, seeing how one proud man told us the story of Buffalo and seeing how proud he was. The tour guide was once again Todd Mitchell, who led us in the Downtown Buffalo tour too! LOL. What a joker man. Though sarcastic. ZZZZ. And he laughs like Willy Wonka. WTH!
