Ok, let's just imagine I'm writing this post on Thursday, 27th April 2005, not the above date.

Well well well... It's nearing the end of the week and the bazaar will soon be over. It's pretty late now, so I'd better be done with this post, quick. I can't believe it... I ate at Swensens yesterday. Something from, Swensens, yet again... At least, this time, I went in to dine with Chui Peng ah yi while my Mom looked after the store. It was raining. So, I ate a Chicken Mixed Peppers Main Course. We got it at around 2.40pm. And we missed the set lunch offer which ends at 2.30pm. It includes a Soup-of-the-Day, Spinelli Coffee and Spinelli Designer Ice-cream too! Aw, darn!

Ooh, the guy who served us Sprite looks like Edward Scissorhands. His face is SO PALE! And he has this Eurasian look. But, dude. His hair is so cool. I've seen my share of bad hairstyles. But his is TOTALLY RAD! Cool. But, as usual with many school uniform-wearers, this supervisor wears his uniform's pants so low, totally weird. But guys, they think it looks cool. Yeah... Perhaps it elongates the upper torso and make you look slimmer and taller. I don't know if that's true. Whatever.

Mum knows him now. He gave us a 10% discount on the basis of being a regular customer(it's written in the receipt) the last time we had chicken wings. So good! That totally rocks. And Mom didn't even talk to him before that. He just sees us out there working. Perhaps it's because we're neighbours. I thought he was pretty "dao" until he smiled at me just now. Really! Before that, it was all a pretty glum face. Talk about bad attitude. But it's alright now. It's fine. It's cool... hmmm... But the botak guy supervisor didn't give us a 10% discount the 1st time we ordered from him. Bleh! :p But greetings-wise, this guy's a pass. And mum chats with him the most. Anyway, Chui Peng ah yi used the UOB Visa Credit card to pay for yesterday's meal. So, there is already a 10% discount. That means, NO SRVC. CHARGE!
But there's 1% CESS. Wonder what it means though...

For today, Big Aunt(Da-yi) dropped by our store and wanted to have a cup of coffee. So mum got her to go into Swensens for coffee. So they went al-fresco, behind the store. So I was there, by myself, looking after the store. But it's okay. Not too many people. Mum asked me to go up and help Da-yi to eat her pasta. It was the 1st time I went al-fresco at Swensens. The environment was fantastic! Absolutely comfy. And luckily, at that time, no one around us were smoking. Like, PHEW! Then Big bro.(gor) came and we shared a baked rice. My, did it take a long long time to come... Yes, it was pretty long. There were some confusions here and there. But at last, it all got settled. Mum went to the desk to make payment, instead of asking for the bill. That's 'cos she wanted to look for that supervisor who gave us the 10% discount. Yeah, I saw his name-tag. I think it's Firdaus. Ooh, what does that mean? I don't care! Yahaha.. But yeah, he did the transaction and Mom got a 10% discount, on the basis of regular customer again. Awesome... I guess that's about it. It's bedtime...

Hmm... what have I been up to lately? Nothing much, really. Well, yesterday I was in my dad's van's cargo area while he was driving and I was like, trying to grip on tightly so I don't keep slipping around (Visualise Toy Story 1 where Woody got onto the back of the Pizza Planet's van). Then my board 3/quarts split. Oops, ok... pants. The side, that is. Anyway, it was pretty embarrassing. The bazaar in front of Swensens is going to be over soon. Ending this week, Sunday. Ooh, time flies by so quickly.

Orientation will be on 4th and 5th May. School starts on 8th May. Excited! Okay, about the pants... I went to the Crown Prince Hotel toilet, like as soon as possible. I had to go past Swensens, Crown Prince Hotel Lobby and... the whole experience was just UGH!! So, I took a sewing kit there and went into a cubicle to sew. That was like, the first time I did that kinda thing in my life! An experience I'd never forget. Anyway, I took like, a few minutes to get the job done. Luckily it's a hotel restroom. I'd not be able to "tahan" other restrooms, I bet.

Then Mum and I went to I.P. Zone to check out some apparel 'cos we were bored, and there weren't many people at the store. My dad stayed to look after it. I tried 4 t-shirts and 3 bermudas but none that I think suited me. I was extremely uncomfortable. But at last I bought a short-sleeved cardigan. for 25 bucks. I LOVE IT! Then, at night, Mom ordered a Salmon and Mushroom baked rice from Swensens for me. Yummy! She ordered it from the Botak supervisor with a earring in his right ear. He does chat with my Mom sometimes. We had a table and foldable chairs in the gazebo. But I was pretty surprised when the waiter brought the whole plate there. I thought they'd put it in a takeaway package. But, nope. And they delivered it out to us! The other time, the sunglasses lady next door had to collect it from them inside. We had free Sprite too! Because of the Cool Rewards Card, yeah.

Today, we had eh... Rodeo Wings! Also from Swensens... in the afternoon, during lunch. YUMMY YUMMY! I loved it. Yeah! But it was expensive. They didn't charge us the 10% service charge though. That's good. This time, we had the takeaway package. Ooh! And also, free Lipton tea with the Cool rewards card. Mm-hmm... Mom ordered from that tall supervisor guy, this time. I say, if she orders from the supervisors, we would definitely get free drinks. But if she orders from the waiters, no way man!

Hehe... I guess, that's all for today. Bye~~

I cannot believe it man! I really wonder how come the things I do for fun just come out seriously, luckily, amazingly... truly... umm, TRUE?? Wait. No, I mean, look at the Michael Buble thing. I replied Malene and I was really... "whatever" about it, like, if you asked, cool. If not, nevermind. Then it really came true that she asked Michael Buble about the question I wanted to ask him. Cool.

Then the Lime magazine? I wrote in 'cos I wanted to tell them that Franz Ferdinand was so *# cool and well, I don't mind whether I get a prize or not, but hey! I did! It was freaking exciting man!

Anyway, I have the day off today. So I suppose I'll be home all day. But if Mum calls me to go down to help her at Orchard, I suppose I have to go. It's a Saturday today, so good business is expected. Every Saturday, Orchard Road would be jam-packed with people all over the place. So, I'm off to play some video games now... Bye!

Heya! I got my Lime Mag just now, and quickly took a flip through it... Well, I wanted to check out the Reader's Letters so much 'cos I wrote in a 2 months ago, "hehe"...

Boy, was I surprised! I got LETTER OF THE MONTH! How cool is that? Freaking cool! OH my GOODNESS!!! Whee~!!! Amazing man... So, people, go read Lime's May issue ALRIGHT?? The one that features... "Pretty Boys". That's what they printed... "Pretty Boys Issue".

Anyway, I won a Team Salon $150 voucher! So, be ready to see me in a *shocckin' hairdo. Alright, just kidding. I'll do something about it anyway. Remember, pick up LIME!!!

I was just thinking, how easy it is to fall head over heels in "infatuation" with a person. And how easy it is to forget him/her a few days after. Crushes, or "infatuations" don't last long. Everyone has them. I know that. I know many people who have gotten themselves in very desperate positions. I think it's really foolish. But, really, without that, how would relationships develop? I wonder how all these things work in the mind. It seems so... weird.

I saw two grown men walking in the streets holding hands a few days back, it looked really silly. Through working for my parents at Orchard, I seemed to have a wider perception of the many colours and personalities of people. It's great, I'm sure it will aid me greatly in my future. I have learnt many things I wouldn't have been able to learn in school. I was especially foolish to think it was a waste of my time, but over time, I learn to accept how lucky I was, to be able to learn these skills in such a comforting environment, under my parents. Although the air there is much more polluted, and the food is much more unhealthy than home-cooked food, I have it much better than them. They rarely get any rest, while sometimes I have breaks. Had a short nap at the back of the store today, while they worked. If I was an employee of an outsider, I wouldn't have the luxury of doing that when I'm tired.

Mum and I went down to S.I.M. today to pay the school fees. They're financially tight and strained. I don't wish to be a burden to them, but I know, I will do my best so that the money and their hard efforts to support this family won't be wasted. I have pondered over so many things... I really appreciated these words written by someone, especially the one on "not frowning, 'cos you never know who's falling in love with your smile".

If you have the time, maybe you should read it.
1. I love you not because of who you are, but
because of who I am when I am with you..

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the
one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way
you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love
you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your
hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting
right beside them knowing you can't have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because
you never know who is falling in love with your
smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one
person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who
isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong
people before meeting the right one, so that when
we finally meet the person, we will know how to be
grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it
happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you
so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just
be more careful about who you trust next time
around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who
you are before you try and know someone else
and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when
you least expect them to.

We're currently working at the Orchard Swensens front, near Crown Prince Hotel. Whenever we wanted to use the restroom, we had to pass through Swensens front door, so those that aren't familiar with our faces would greet us, saying... "Welcome to Swensens!", in a cheerful and amiable way. Sometimes, I laugh over it behind them, 'cos I'm just going to the Crown Prince Hotel toilets... I'm not patronising your restaurant! But it's okay, they're really friendly, and their service standards has improved. What a long post, I better go off to bed now! It's 2.57am. Wow, that's late.

Either I haven't got sick of my Kaiser Chiefs template or I haven't found a new inspiration to start making a new blogskin for my site. Ok, both ways, I changed dumb-fish to blast-the-bass. I'm sure you'all could tell that since you got to this page already.

It was raining the whole afternoon. I got so sick of the rain, 'cos we couldn't do business and had to hide in the gazebo. The rental is so high, yet business is so bad. We couldn't even get back the rental for today, sadly.

I went for my swimming class today. Luckily the rain stopped when it was time for me to go off to swimming. The mrt was so crammed on my way from Somerset to Clementi. So sickening! I hate squeezing with so many strangers.

Hmmm... heard a few songs on the radio in the past few days.
Added some songs to my playlist:
Red Hot Chilli Peppers- Dani California
Daniel Powter- Free Loop
Better than Ezra- Juicy(I'm hooked!)
Stereophonics- Have a Nice Day
Mary J. Blige feat. U2- One
...many more...

Anyway, I'm so hooked onto "Juicy". hehehe... uh-uh-uh-uh-uh.uh.uh.uh... Juiccy...
Love it! Ju, Ju, Ju, Ju, Juicy...

Oh, I feel so stupid. When I couldn't find my mp3 player, I got all frantic and my mind couldn't concentrate on the tasks at hand, helping my parents at the store, yes.
I wanted to whip out my mp3 player and charge it a little on my laptop in the morning, but when I searched my bag, I couldn't find it. Guess where it was, in the wallet shop bag which contained my cds. I knew I am always that careless. So I believed there is definitely a possibility I left it somewhere, thinking it was in my bag, yeah... Feeling confused? Nevermind.

Yesterday, Shijia came along... to collect her pay. Then we were caught in the rain, so we had to stand in front of the store with barely any shelter. Ok, there was some sort of shelter. But, our shoes got really wet. So, anyway, here are some pics she took of us hiding from the rain. Haha. I grabbed it from her blog. Haha... That's what we call acting "cute". Dude, I'm not cute. Please don't call me cute. Cuties don't listen to rock. Alright, I felt obliged to pose with her or it'd feel pretty awkward. At least, I tried to smile more naturally. lol.

And the sign? That's just plainly, PEACE. Not those "kawaii" stuff. Alright? Don't laugh now... It's embarassing. OK, it's not. I think we look pretty good in those pictures aye? Haha. No! I don't! But she does. Just a little memory. That's all. WHAT A WRY SMILE! I'm such a kiddo... Oh gosh. It's late. Good night for now... I gotta whisk myself off to bed!

Yes! I have been accepted to SIM by the University of Buffalo into the Bachelor of Arts degree course! Excited. But some things are still bothering me. Such as... the timetable. It is so... confusing! Plus, since I have not receive my O level certificate, I'm not officially admitted, though I have been accepted by the Uni into that course. So, I have to present the O level certificate to them before I can start lessons. Oh, puh-leese! When can we get our certs?

Ngee Ann has been calling me to pay my fees with the pink coloured fee voucher. Hold on a second... I didn't even receive that! What rubbish... What pink fee voucher? Stop calling me. I got my mother to call them back to withdraw me from the course. Well, let's hope it all goes well. I'm going into University! I don't want to go into Ngee Ann. It's SO DARN DUMB!

Well... the post before about the t-shirt... It's so plain. Eww... I've already designed a new one. You'll see it if you see me wearing it! Too lazy to post it here anyway. I'll go and have it made with my pay that I'll get, most probably by this week. My mom still owes me THREE months pay! ok, ok... I don't press her. If she has no money to give me as pay, then I would have just had been "free labour". Lol. Whatever.

Hey! I installed the Sims 2 today. So freakin' cool! Well, except for some glitches. Nevermind. I got the day off today. I heard business has been rather well. GREAT! We need that. Anyway, humph. After a day of play, I gotta return to work tomorrow. I have to accept that fact! I'm gonna have to work again!

Too bad I can't go swimming tomorrow. Sobs, sobs... I gotta have to take my Goldstar test in June... ARRR! Too fast! too fast! No...

Alright, I know I'm lagging already. Supposed to have gotten it in Primary school. But I grew... plump... after my stupid fall which fractured my right leg during primary two. And now, I swim so friggin slow... SLOW~

I want to make a Green Day tee, a Franz Ferdinand tee and a Kaiser Chiefs tee. Where can I go print my designs? The cheapest place? I guess I'll have to check out Queensway Shopping Center. Maybe for the Green Day one, I'll do this....

FRONT

BACK

A black tee, or maybe black polo tee. haha.

You all so gotta check out Nickelback's Savin' Me video. It's really good.

I also made 2 image links for my blog, Green Day and Franz Ferdinand, but soon, I'll also make a Kaiser Chiefs one. I gotta go sleep already. Goodnight, bye peeps...

Hello you all, I'm right now... in my comfortable room, sitting cosily in my chair, typing this post on my new Acer Travelmate 3282WXMi. COOL yea?! I just got it yesterday. 'Love it.

10 seconds ago, the sky looked super duper dark, with really dark rain clouds.. yea, you get the point? Now, it's raining so heavily. Soon, I will be going off to Orchard to help out at my parents store. OOh, no fair. I WANNA install my sims 2!!! So, nevermind then, I'll wait... I shall be patient.

Getting used to the keyboard now... Kinda crammed, 'cos it's quite a compact laptop you see... So, talk another day, byebye...

Aye!

I can't believe what happened...

One fine day, on Fri 24 Mar 2006, I received an email from MALENE ARPE, a writer from "The Toronto Star", Canada's newspaper. This is what she wrote...

Hello there,
My name is Malene Arpe. I'm the pop culture writer for the Toronto Star in Canada. I'm doing a story on/interview with Michael Buble in connection with the upcoming Juno Awards and I'd love to include some fan comments. I found your email(s) on a Buble fan listing and thought you might like to help me out. So, if you're so inclined please drop me an email and answer these couple of questions (and I'm on a tight deadline, so in the next couple of days would be great).
1) Explain, please, what it is about Michael Buble and his music that you love.
2) Which other artists are you a fan of?
3) If you could ask Michael Buble one question, what would it be?
--
Please let me know your name (first or first and last, whichever you're comfortable with,) your age and where you live.
I really appreciate your help. And feel free to share this email with fellow fans if you think they'd like to answer my questions. The story will run Sunday April 2, and can be found at www.thestar.ca

Alright, so... I just wrote back to her... saying,

To Malene.

I'm sorry, I don't know if it's too late, but I just saw your email. I'm from Singapore, so I guess you found my email on http://buble.icecreambox.com/?

Anyway, I can help you on your task. Here are my answers to your questions.

1) Michael Buble, I admit looks really charming, but mostly, I'm a fan of his music. I really like his up-tempo songs and those that really "melts hearts". I have been quite a fan of his voice since I heard him sing "Save the Last Dance for Me". It's my favourite Michael Buble song. It's just a pity I couldn't catch him live in concert when he came to Singapore last year. I heard that he would sometimes rap during his concerts.

2) Apart from Michael Buble, whose songs I listen to when I feel the need to relax or when I am in the mood for jazz, I am a fan of several rock bands, such as Green Day, Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs.

3) Well... I'd have to think for a bit... for this question, I think, "Would you consider coming out with a Michael Buble 'rap' album?". Haha.. Nah, that's a joke. I don't know... I think I'd like to ask him if he would come out with an album which is totally original and "Michael Buble" minus singing the old jazz songs. Like, the song "Home", it's great. And he should write more of his own songs, right?

Jia Zhen

Well... this is what I found from the April 3rd issue of The Toronto Star...

FAN QUESTIONS

...

I'd like to ask him if he would do an album with all new, original material, asks Jia Zhen, 17, Singapore.

"No. The answer is no. I'm an interpreter. I was 16 or 17 when I started doing this kind of music and loving this kind of music, and for about 12 years I worked with absolutely no success, no recognition, no money, all because I was passionate about what I was doing. Now that I have success doing it, why would I ever walk away from something that makes me so happy? "

I think she asked wrongly, such that the question was misinterpreted by that crooner.
Hey, whatever! But that was AMAZING! Well, I ain't that big a fan of him anymore anyway.. But, I still like some of his songs. SSSHH! I put my name on that fansite... a long long time ago. I'd never imagine this to happen to me. Is it a lucky thing? I'd rather be asking Green Day, Franz Ferdinand or Kaiser Chiefs. HAHA... ok ok... Michael Buble's great too...

But he sounded really... ARROGANT.

Right?

I replied Malene for fun. But she treated it seriously, heck, it's her job ain't it? haha.. Alright... that's it for today.

Ok, currently, I'm really really hooked on The Strokes electrifying songs and thinking of buying their new album, First Impressions of Earth.

I saw the music video of Heart In A Cage, and really got hooked on the song, 'cos it's so COOL! haha.. I like the electrifying guitar sound effects. If you have time to spare, listen to it on my site, on my StickAm player.

Heard from Sandra that my blog takes a REALLY long time to load. Well, I think it's because there're too many javascripts on my page. SORRY! I shall edit them or rip them off soon. I find StickAm really useful. So, I can just take away the "Videos" and "Photos" portion which incorporates Javascript and then use StickAm to upload my pics and videos. But currently, there's something wrong with the StickAm video uploader. I only managed to upload the .3gp files. But not the other files. RUBBISH!

Nevermind. Had a game of badminton just now, I heard there's gonna be another session this week! Oh... Wow. Finally got up to EXCERCISE! Or I'll never stop expanding. Scary huh? hehe...

Ok... That's all for now. Let's see how tomorrow goes. Doing business with my parents at Orchard again. Also, swimming lesson tomorrow. PREPARATION for Gold Star test!!! I must pass no matter what. Or I'd be really bad for Mr. Chong's reputation and I'd have wasted 20 bucks!
