Hi, this post is so delayed. I didn't want to use the computer yesterday and I didn't have the need to anyway.
Umm, I was overwhelmed by the number of turtle emoticons on MSN when I logged in on Monday. At first it was 4, then it steadily increased, by around 9pm, there were like, 15 people having turtles on their nicks. Ok. Confusing. So I was discussing with Loisa. And she told me something that was pretty scary... to accept...? Yeah. It was really... bad. Well, she told me that
Steve Irwin, the
Croc Hunter, is dead. Stung by a stingray.
I do watch his shows on Animal Planet and realise he's such a famous conservationist. Even my grandmother knows him when she doesn't even speak a word of English at all. (ok, maybe "ok", but it's not really counted) ...
So when I read the news on CNN, it was pretty shocking. Kind of a bitter irony isn't it? The freak accident... A stingray? Something that only took 2 lives before Irwin in the recorded history of Australia?
oh man...
He must have been on news headlines all over the world. He's popular, I say. And it's sad a great conservationist like him perished huh? Oh well... but the stingray shouldn't be blamed in any way 'cos it only triggered a natural defense mechanism which is meant to protect it.
Oh! I tagged on Sandra's blog about whether he's gonna have a state funeral and then went to read CNN.com. I realised that he wasn't going to get one because his dad felt that he's an 'ordinary guy' and so he shall have and ordinary funeral. Alright...
moving on...
I realised it has been such a long time since I read a book. You know? I used to be such a bookworm. Haha... Yep, I remember George saying that I always used to have a book by me all the time in secondary school, especially 1 and 2.
THEREFORE... an act of impulse. I wanted so much to immerse myself in a novel! So I bought "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke at my school's Popular Bookstore. At a discount anyway! Haha...
At first, I felt the first 2 chapters were pretty stale and confusing? yeah... for me. Anyway, I think as it progresses, it gets clearer. Ahh, I find it really interesting now. :D
Okay. i think I gotta do my UGC homework now! ONE essay!!! -.-
